Why is the organisation abbreviated C.L.U.E.?
It is not C.L.U.E. policy to comment on accidental mnemonic outcomes arising from organisational naming. The original naming committee has since been reorganised.
And the Continental Operations Directorate is C.O.D.?
See previous answer. Do not encourage them.
Are you a police or intelligence service?
No. We coordinate enquiries, evidence and liaison. We do not carry firearms. We carry folders, several of which are heavier than expected.
Can C.L.U.E. tell me whether I am under investigation?
If you are under investigation, disclosure may be restricted. If you are not under investigation, there may be nothing to disclose. If you are the investigator, please consult your appointment paperwork.
Can I send evidence to C.L.U.E.?
Yes, where requested. Package it securely, preserve provenance and do not clean, alter, taste or improve it. This guidance is more specific than we once thought necessary.
What if a measurement looks obviously impossible?
Record it. Repeat it. Test a control. Consider what all measurements have in common. Then, and only then, begin blaming physics.
Can a civilian be appointed as an investigator?
In exceptional circumstances. Previous appointments have considered reasoning ability, discretion, availability and whether the preferred Belgian candidate exists.
Why are some directorates missing from the public website?
Either because they are operationally restricted or because publishing the full name would cause the acronym to become the story.
What is your cookie policy?
We use no advertising cookies. The website has enough crumbs already.
I have found an error on the website. What should I do?
Record it contemporaneously. Screenshots are encouraged. Gloating should be proportionate.
